Sundance Head - "Mustang Sally"
Randy: "You dropped the bomb on them tonight. That was hot."
Paula: "I didn't know you had range like that. You're awesome."

Leslie Hunt - "(You Make Me Feel) Like a Natural Woman"
Randy: "It was just okay."
Paula: "I think you did a great job, however, watch the songs that you pick."

Randy: "The conviction was unbelievable. That set it off."
Paula: "You are a star, my God."

American Idol Season 6 - Guys Night

February 20, 1997

1. Rudy Cardenas - "Free Ride"
Randy: "Really corny, Dude."
Paula: "I thought you did a fantastic job."
Simon: "I've never heard you do anything which is unique. I don't think you have a distinctive voice."

Simon: "Tonight you were like Dad at a wedding... I don't like you tonight."

4. Paul Kim - "Careless Whipser"
Randy: "I still see a lot of promise for you."
Paula: "You kind of oversang the song and didn't find your center."
Simon: "I would suggest you put your shoes on if you sing again next week."

5. Chris Richardson - "I Don't Want To Be"
Randy: "Don't be scared."
Paula: "I was a lot of fun. Way to go."
Simon: "If I'm judging on the vocal, I thought it was below standard."

6. Nick Pedro - "Now and Forever"

8. Sanjaya Malakar - "Knocks Me Off My Feet"
Randy: "I didn't think it was very good...it was really bad."
Paula: "You're a sweet soul and it comes across when you sing...you have a very nice voice...I wish more of your personality and more force came through in your performance."

Simon: "I kind of felt I was at some weird student gig."

10. Jared Cotter - "Back at One"
Randy: "It was pretty good. I didn't like the way it ended."

Randy: "Vocally it was pretty good."
Paula: "You can definitely sing!"
Simon: "It was good, nothing great, nothing terrible."

Randy: "You get the best vocal prize of the night."
Paula: "Man you just opened up and you were right on pitch."
Simon: "The beginning was absolutely monsterous. I think it was okay."

Interviewing - On The Other Side

After 15 years, I am for the first time on the other side of interviewing.
I've always been the one being interviewed but now I'm the one doing the interviewing.

I was nervous at first but when the first applicant came in, I got right down to business.

And I'll tell you what, some of these people are full of crap. The things that are said is ridiculous. The job was for a data entry position. For me personally, that doesn't seem like a very hard job. But, I guess it can be. Especially if, (1) you're not detail oriented, (2) you can't really use the computer, and (3) you can't type.

We had all applicants do an excel spreadsheet. We gave them all an instruction sheet along with things that needed to be entered into the spreadsheet. Out of the 6 applicants, only one person did the spreadsheet exactly the way the finished product should look like. That was unbelievable to me because everyone bragged on their resume about their data entry experience and their knowledge of excel.

So people, don't put down things on your resume that you know for a fact is not true. It does no good to put excel down as one of your skills and you don't even know how to go into page setup/page preview and formatting their spreadsheet so that all information is on one page. Also, if you're doing a spreadsheet and if you really know anything about excel and word, then why would you put the address, city, state, and zip all in the same cell. Anyone that really knows would give each it's own cell for when you have to sort or even do a word merge for labels or envelopes.

I'm glad it's all over for now and hopefully things will work out with the one applicant that had a good interview and an excellent spreadsheet.

I'm Multilingual

¡Mire Este!

Wanna know what this says?

Look At This!
I found this translation website that translates things for you. I'm loving it and I'll probably use it to make it seem like I'm so very multilingual, even though I'm far from it.
So of course, the first one is English to Spanish translation.

Crazy People

What is wrong with people? I mean for real.

A group of ladies wanted to get a book club together. But there were really no purposes set for the club.

So, it was stated that the book club's purpose would be to uplift others within the club. Okay, that's fine.

#1 Someone says that they believe we should all read christian fiction books. Others commented that you can be uplifted by reading other books other than all christian fiction books. Well, the one person who wanted christian fiction is not happy about it and makes sure she expresses that every chance she gets. You know what I say, get out of the club then.

#2 At our 3rd meeting, we all got together and picked books for the rest of the year. Everyone put their choices in a bowl. Then books were pulled out of the bowl one by one and assigned to a month. The first book picked to read for February was "Passion Marks" by Lee Hayes. Let me just say that if a book is scheduled for any particular month, when you're in a book club, that is the book that you read. Anyway, there were complaints about the book. Of course, these complaints were not discussed in the group together. Complaints were made to club members individually. I mean come on, what else would you expect from grown women?
Needless to say, the person who had put the book in as a suggestion was upset because people were saying that they weren't going to read the book. She had read the book and was anxiously awaiting the meeting date to discuss the book.
This person got really upset. But I think she was more upset because she calls herself "The Outcast" because she's the only one out of the group that does not work in the same place as every one else. This person believes that everyone is talking about her behind her back and getting together and talking to one another throughout the day. This person doesn't like that fact that everyone else can talk to each other on a daily basis but she only gets to talk to everyone once a month.
It was explained to her that (1) everyone doesn't see each other or even talk to each other every day. We all work in different parts of the building. (2) When we do see or talk to each other, it's never about the book club. That's saved for the book club meetings.
This person still couldn't believe that and has decided to drop out of the book club.
Well, at this point, I say good riddance. I'm tired of this immature bull crap and don't have any time for it.

#3 Because there were issues about how the books were picked, I suggested that everyone submit books that they believe would be good for the book club to read going off of the purpose that we had set up. There are 8 people in the club. Only 2 people submitted suggestions. Okay, that is fine. I stated that for the book club to be what we want it to be, that everyone had to pitch in and do their part. I compiled the suggestions of the 2 book club members, sent out an email of the list (the list included a synopsis of each book), and asked everyone to please vote on the books that they wanted to read so that the books we read would be books that EVERYONE had agreed upon reading. Know what I mean? The books that the majority of people picked/liked, those would be the books that we would read this year.
Of course you have to give people deadlines. Plus, we need to go ahead and pick the book for March so that we can get started on it. Well, out of the 8 people in the club, 3 people submitted book choices. A 4th person said that it didn't matter what books we picked, she will read everything and that it was more important that we get together and discuss something and that it didn't matter what it was.
No one else has said anything or submitted anything. Now really, WT@?
What's wrong with people?

I'm thinking about getting out myself and just saying forget about it. I'm already an avid reader and trying to get into writing so there are other things I can do with the 2-3 hours that we'd spend a month on discussing books that no one else has even tried to comment on.

Well, I'll just see what happens but from the way things look right now, I don't think this is going to happen.

Crazy Relatives

My in-laws are off the rocker.

They are so funny.

They were over this weekend and the discussion was about out of the 5 of them (sisters and brothers) who was the craziest. This did not include their mother because she is with out a doubt the craziest. After the mother, the youngest, was voted the craziest.

Oh, and then they had to start talking about which of them had the craziest spouse.

I have so much fun laughing at them that I love when they come over. Well, not when all of them come over. Just my sister-in-laws. The two of them can come over when ever they want and stay for as long as they want.
But the two brothers and the mother, my time with them has to be limited. They can not be around me for too long because then I'm ready to strangle someone. When they are all together, usually at my house, after a while, I go downstairs to my room and close the door until they're gone.
I'm sure somebody out there can relate.
